I assume the tiger morphs are queens with the stripes, and regalia morphs are purpleback mimicus

What precisely isn't good for the anting community?  And why are you convinced they are a part of it?

Did you see their YouTube channel?  Looks to me like they're selling real ants, even if those photos are plagiarized.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's bad for the community, but I definitely have a strong dislike towards the frivolous use of made up names, high prices for just a colony in a test tube, and stolen images.  Another thing is the completely false polygyny claim with Pogonomyrmex rugosus; if anything, they will eventually kill each other.

I would understand selling things as certain color morphs if you could selectively breed for that color, but you can not selectively breed these ant species.

I got on Instagram late last year, just posting pictures and videos of my colonies. It's nearing 1000 followers now, and it averages 150 likes per post with tons of engagement. These are posts of ants ok. ANTS! haha. It's not like I am posting shots of my amazing Asian a** or hot attractive women.

So as it grows, I get dozens of messages from all over the world - not just CA - asking all kinds of ant questions. It's overwhelming, and I ignore a good amount but do my best to answer as many as possible and respond as factual as possible.

This craigslist post doesn't help. All it does is sew confusion to an already complicated and unorganized taxonomy. If the anting community was large and popular, with many enthusiasts and experts in the field, then it may not be a problem. But unfortunately the hobby of antkeeping is in the minority of minority of hobbies. Finding correct answers and properly disseminating answers can be hard when you have so much phony crap out there. So YES, it is bad for the community.

What is the difference between this guy labeling his ants by species and color, and someone selling Labrador Retriever puppies in yellow, chocolate, and black?  The fact that dogs have been domesticated and commercialized?

I think everyone respects your commitment to the hobby and commercialization of selling ants and helping folks with their husbandry questions.  That's not at issue here.

However, I'm struggling to find any real complaint you have.  What is the crux of the issue you have with the craigslist post?  I think Zeiss did a good job of trying to explain it, but I'm finding it difficult to believe that the primary complaint is the fact that this guy attached color "morph" labels to more uniquely identify the differences in color between the different variants of the same species he collected.

That first picture is nearly old enough to vote.
