Awh, i don't think my tubes would like to hear this. And personally, i don't think they are that stupid. They are long lasting, they give a clear view. And i like the weight of it.

U can always try to put the tubes in a box. I guarantee u they won't breakthat way.

Please reply if u already read all the good answers here in this thread. And what your next steps will be. So that we know u are one step closer to ant professionalism

But i placed it on the table to wipe my feet and suddenly fell 2 seconds later

And that is where u went wrong i think, putting the tube on the table without noticing it was rolling.

I would recommend an aluminum tray, that is what I use. That way, you can put all your tubes in there. And they can't jump out, or try to commit suicide by rolling.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

I keep mine in a box covered with a thin layer of black foam. Provides a little insulation and keeps them nice and dark and (hopefully) warm. Also not to be rude Hightlyze, but I thought you said you were leaving?

I do this but with a heat pad under it, so it stays at a cozy 83 degrees Fahrenheit.

I am  Mr. Clumsy. I hate glass tubes.

My experience is really only with really cheap tubes with rubber stoppers. Try to put the stoppers in nice and snug and the open end of tube crumbles.

I threw them away and used that stand for my spare AC TTs.

Agreed, that was not nice and had nothing to do with glass test tubes

Wait, so now that you've responded, why did you make this post, seriously. Were you complaining about the test tube or asking how to prevent the tube from falling and shattering?

So all those posts weren't necessary about how to make it not fall or get a shatter-proof tube.

Why did you make this topic if you're not looking for alternatives.... Why make an entire thread, complaining about a broken test tube? This is not a chat room, or a discord server. It is a forum, and should be treated as such.
