Have your Camponotus americanus laid any eggs yet?  i'm curious about those, are they large ants or medium?  thanks.

Most queens do have eggs now, some having small larvae. They are large ants, with most queens being above 16 millimeters.

I'll pm you for purchase and payment details. :)

You can't get ants from him. He is in Tennessee.  You can't ship ants across state lines without a permit.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

You would have to get a permit. https://www.aphis.us...nd-soil-permits

I can, but you will need a PPQ526 permit.

Nearly all Camponotus chromaiodes queens have workers now. Camponotus americanus not far behind, one with a single worker.

To clarify, I have a PPQ 526 permit.

Last year, I purchased four Camponotus chromaiodes queens from Ant_Dude2908. All queens arrived alive and have been doing extremely well as of late. This year I bought two more queens from this store--two C. americanus queens. Both queens arrived alive and active, and I am looking forward to watching their colonies grow.

All good things so far!

Thanks, Ant_Dude2908!

That's great to hear! Did the queens eat any of their brood?

Looks like one cocoon was eaten by one queen. I will give them a cricket leg tomorrow once they are settled in so hopefully they produce more brood.
