It snowed all over Southern California last night in places that don't ever get snow. The entire local low elevation mountains where I go anting are completely covered.

This is my parent's house. I didn't see any myself because I live right by the beach and to get snow all the way to the beach in Southern California is EXTREMELY rare.

Haha, have a little taste of Canada. Still, no where near close to how terrifyingly cold it is here.

I am sitting at -4C (which is very rare for this time of year), but our long range forecast shows that by Sunday our weather will be back to its normal -35C...

Pretty good, almost as good as my brother in April.  We shoveled a path between the shed and the road.  :D

Looks like the storm continued to drop snow all the way through the desert. This person's pictures are amazing.

Snow on a cactus...

Not as funny as the palm tree though.  There is a type of cactus in southern Alberta that does just fine with 7 months of snow.  I have yet to see a palm tree flourish with our winters though....

For anyone who lives in Southern California, specifically the Orange County and Riverside County area, and frequently travels the I-15 freeway, this will be an amazing sight.

For any Orange County, CA people, some of the these pictures might look familiar to you if you've ever hiked the popular San Juan Loop Trail off Ortega Hwy across from the candy store. If so, this is what it looks like covered in snow. This is one of the places I like to go anting sometimes, and like a lot of the places that got snow last week, it's very rare for this to happen. This trail is home to a lot of Pogonomyrmex subnitidus and an unusually large amount of Myrmecocystus wheeleri that both probably hardly ever see snow.
