Location:  O'Neill Regional Park, Orange County, California.
Habitat:  Coastal sage scrub.
Coloration, hue and pattern:  Light red with even lighter, more translucent gaster with black spots in it.
Length:  5mm.
Distinguishing characteristics:  Large eyes, long legs.

Most likely Myrmecocystus wheeleri according to both Dr James Trager and Mrmacophyl.
