That last queen looking ant is just adorable!

amazing thing is she's only a worker! The queen a gaster length longer. And they really are very cute! I have a few colonies and love to watch them run around.

Fascinating! Would love to have a colony of them, but my location does not allow it.

Also, your post quoting mine was the 900th post on the photography thread. Just a mile stone…

It probably won't get identified unfortunately by the looks of it. I have as many unknown ant pictures as I have identified ones. It is a frustrating hobby sometimes.

Yea, I hear that haha. I get annoyed or frustrated with not being able to put a name to an ant. Let alone if I'm keeping it.

We used our Biden Buck$/ Kamala Ka$h this summer to visit my wife's family in Bolivia. The ant diversity down there was basically mind-blowing. Here are a few of the cooler species I was able to photograph:

1. Cephalotes atratus

2. Acromyrmex striatus

3. Camponotus mus

4. Camponotus rosariensis

5. Pheidole cf obscurithorax

I was feeding my Formica argentea and I just had to take some pics. I got a new iPad so that is why pictures are much better quality.
