A battered looking Colobopsis macrocephala that I saw in my backyard. Qld, Australia.

That veteran must have been in an intense battle with another colony or prey. Wow. Still has those beautiful colors though.

It must be a constant battle for some colonies against invaders. Here is another battered ant I saw recently. I think it is a Polyrhachis pilosa.

I thought these were pretty decent but do not compare to some of the amazing pictures on this thread

The Nylanderia flavipes and Crematogaster cerasi were taken without reversal ring and the Colobopsis obliqua queen was taken with reversal ring

Got a new camera and macro lens. Here is the first pictures I look. Its of a pinned naturel looking Polyrhachis ammon Queen. Kinda doing a project with taxidermy.

Camera is a Canon EOS 90d with a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens.

I've still yet got the hang of using the new camera, but when I do I'll be posting more pictures on my insta and here.

Just sharing a Myrmica photo I took recently. Haven't tried to identify her yet, but at a first glance she looks similar to M. americana!

Whoa! Nice! Is it a worker queen or egg-producing queen?
