I very much doubt that etsy or ebay care. The laws surrounding the sale of ants are so little-known that they might not even consider it illegal activity.

Ebay would know actually. I remember a few years back reading about how ebay had to take a lot of the illegal sellers down or change their rules or something. The sellers then just resort to labeling everything as "feeders" or something like that. Ebay knows, just don't care.

Horrific attitude.  

From what I've seen from ANTdrew on the forum, he isn't like that.  He more cares about the environment, and wants to mitigate illegal sellers.  If you don't know because you are new to the forum, illegal selling can spread invasives and be detramental to native ant species.  I'm sure most people on this forum would agree with me here.  In reporting illegal sellers, it helps the whole antkeeping hobby by lowering the number of illegally spread ants.  You're unfairly judging one of the top antkeepers on this website who cares about the overall experience people have as antkeepers.  I hope you'll be able to learn some stuff on this forum. SMH.

this sounds like this person is actually one of the people selling ants on ebay. You don't know how much of a responsible and respectful keeper ANTdrew is.

Absolutely.  If it's any indication to me, I wouldn't advise buying from this seller.  He is either inexperienced, hence this being his first post on the forum, has no care what so ever about antkeeping ethics, or is toxic in general.  Sad that this is prevelent in the hobby, but I guess some people are always like this.

I definitely don’t even think of my selling ants as a business. If you ask any people I’ve sold to on here, they’ll tell you I do it more to promote this wonderful hobby and a love of nature in general. I have a decently paying day job that is my actual business, for better or worse.

i think he literally just made an account to post this. Heck, I'm not pro native in the slightest and literally have a messor colony (don't attack me pls) and I agree with everything antdrew says. If you’re gonna sell illegal ants, which I don’t recommend, at least do it privately and not on a huge website where you will flood out the legit native sellers.
