The container store.

Which category? There's so many containers I can't find these specific ones.

How do these guys do in a tubs and tubes setup

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In my experience they seem to do just ok. From this year I had half my queuens in dirt setups and the other half in T&T set ups and while they all produced and grew the ones I had in dirt setups grew in numbers much much faster. While the T&T ones increased in worker numbers at about half the rate of the dirt ones. Right now I'm in the midst of moving my T&T colonies to dirt setups to see if they will speed up in growth. These are queens all from t he same location, for what its worth.

You found P. californicus (bicolor variety)?

Sorry if you get this question a lot Drew but where do you get those containers?

Container Store

Update 5-12-2020

I ended up selling the smallest colony and just kept the two largest. One has about 300 workers now, and the other has about 400.

This is the largest colony. As you can see they really like amaranth. I may just start giving them amaranth only, since they're throwing so many of the other seeds into the trash pile.

I give them crickets every once and a while, and they really love them. They love almost any kind of meat, even if it's starting to rot and smells really bad.

So jealous! I'm moving to Arizona this summer for college and I know exactly where a few large colonies of these guys are, hopefully I get there in time for their flights, they seem super awesome to keep!
