Saw a Dorymyrmex male near the entrance of a nest yesterday, so the season is getting close.
I actually think they could very well have already flown. With temperatures this high for this many days in a row now, there's no telling what they they might decide to fly.
Dorymyrmex insanus and Dorymyrmex bicolor seem to have had some mating flights pretty early this year. I got me five queens! (4 Dorymyrmex insanus, 1 Dorymyrmex cf bicolor.)

Did you actively catch them or just happened upon them? I counted 4 Dorymyrmex insanus mounds within about 10' outside the other day. I'm thinking with today's light rain, they might go for a flight soon.
Camponotus vicinus, Crematogaster 1, Crematogaster 2, Formica francoeuri, *, *, Myrmecocystus testaceus, Novomessor cockerelli, Pheidole hyatti, Pogonomyrmex californicus, Pogonomyrmex rugosus, Solenopsis invicta
I was digging up founding chambers, and found the Dorymyrmex bicolor queen walking around.
Well it looks like Veromessor pergandei and Myrmecocystus yuma both flew in the desert sometime in the first week of February. We dug up a bunch of them today.
I am done with the timing of these ants...
Isn't it too early and cold for them to have a nuptial flight now?
I'm in the process of updating this chart. I'm scouring the internet for journals, ID requests, and anywhere else I can obtain this information. I am even going back over all the mating chart threads and mating flight posts on other forums and Facebook pages looking for information as well. I should have this finished some time in the next few days.
Haha well, I'm trying to stick with actual reports or posts mentioning a flight during a particular month.
BTW, I'm adding some location information on this next update.

Okay, then you can at least add December, January, and August to D.insanus then.
Did you see them flying those months?
