So I noticed many people had 1 or 2 queen prenolepis colonies or setups, so I was just wondering if anyone had or has experience with 3 queen colonies.

Or could link me 3+ journals I may have missed

I have many 3 queen colonies that seem to be doing just fine.

-1x Parasitic Formica Sp. Colony

-1x Pogonomymrex Californicus Colony

-1x Camponotus Hyatti Colony

I had one 3 queen colony last year and the workers killed off 2 of the queens around November.

Why would they do that?


I had one 3 queen colony last year and the workers killed off 2 of the queens around November.

Sometimes ants kill off the queens that are less productive or that aren't producing. I do know tarheel ants had a 9(?) Queen colony of this sp.

From what I've seen/heard, Prenolepis imparis do this quite often (seemingly more often in colder climates)
