I found this thing on my black light in Glamis, California. Coolest colored cockroach I've seen.

It's a male of an Arenivaga species, more commonly known as the sand or desert cockroach.

I agree, it's an Arenivaga.  I really, really, really want some females so I can breed them...

Haha, I was wondering if you might have this species, or if it might be one on your wanted list. It would be cool if I found more than just this one.

Would that be as food source for your ants or you find them intriguing enough to keep as pets?

I want them as pets.  These roaches don't breed enough to use as feeders.  Actually, native CA roaches in general aren't great feeders because they're so hard to breed.
