Can someone please measure the height of the pen holder when it's open? So the height not including the lid.

Can someone please measure the height of the pen holder when it's open? So the height not including the lid. 

 

It's actually very shallow. The thing that gives it height is the lid, it's curved so it can fit a test tube. The height from bottom to the middle (where is opens) is 17mm. However, the lid gives an approximate 10 extra millimeters to the height.

I have used up to 20mm diameter test tubes.

 

 

A few PM'ed and asked about this. The height is more than 17mm. It is around 21 or 22mm. All the test tubes I've used are 20mm diameter tubes, and they fit fine.

I have an idea.. if they truely are discontinued, I'll contact a manufacturer to get 5-10K made, if you guys still want them. :)
