Oh. Those are just in test tubes, and they don't grow fungus. Acromyrmex grow fungus. They should however, be moved into a suitable formicarium immediately though.

What do the N. cockerelli eat? They're very pretty. Is their care similar to harvester ants?

They are harvester ants. So yes, their care is the same as most other harvester ants.

For honeypot ants, I would recommend anything made with some sort of plaster, concrete, or dirt, and it needs to have chambers similar to a cave. Some THA products would probably be the best out there for honeypot ants at this point.

I hear that N. cockerelli is easy. As for Myrmecocystus, I think they all can be fairly difficult.

I have way too many colonies, so I'm selling these things for hardly anything now. I think we have finally run out of Southern CA people with an interest in ants.
Shoot I'm tempted, especially after discovering two queen deaths today. Are you still in South OC or can you meet around LA now?

Bigb said you could pick them up from him if you want. He is in La Mirada, which is a lot closer to you.
