I am in upper east TN. I am looking for a colony of Acorn ants. We recently had some logging done and I can't find oak trees anywhere. lol Thanks!

Sure you can’t find one oak? Tennessee is crowded with forest (like in PA) and all are mostly deciduous forest. You should be able to find at least Northern Red Oak (mostly common for Temnothorax in eastern US or for me; in PA, or pin or white oak). Any common Oak in your state should house Temnothorax but yeah I guess they are tricky to find.

Keeping:

1x - S. molesta (founding)       2x - C. pennsylvanicus (founding queen and colony)   

4x - C. chromaiodes (colonies)                                       

4x - T. immigrans (founding queens and colonies) ==> 3x queen [founding], 2x queen colony [colony], and two 1x queen [colony and founding]

1x - F. subsericea (founding)

No. Like I said, we have had loggers all around us. They left cedars, Holly trees and dogwoods. I plan to go to a friend of mine's farm and look around. She is about half hour away. Hopefully, I will get a good look around.
