Location: Saskatchewan Canada
Date: 5-06-2018 and 5-07-2018
Time: Flight started 7pm on May 6th but queens were still flying and out on May 7th [Which oddly enough is the same exact date as 2017]
Temperature: 24c/75F

Humidity: 23%

Wind: 29 km/h [I dunno what it is in mph]
Rain: A little sprinkle a few days before the flight but no major storm

Method: being outside

Aphaenogaster found inside logNylanderia dealate found wandering on sidewalk.

Notes: Reported externally, identification confirmed by me. Not all conditions are known. 

 

Species: Nylanderia cf. terricola, Nylanderia cf. faisonensis, Lasius umbratus, Camponotus subbarbatus (ex. males).
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Date: May 15, 2018

Time: Between 12:00 PM and 2:20 PM EST.

Temperature: 84°-88° F.
Wind: Very little.

Humidity: 57%-84%

Pressure: 1009-1013 mb
Rain: Rainy two days before, storm rolling in quickly.
Method: Nylanderia
dealates collected mid-flight. One L. umbratus collected from under a log, overwintering; the other was found foraging in a parking lot.

Species: Formcia cf. rufa no.1( 6+ dead males and 1 dead queen), Formica cf. rufa no.2(No.2 note -probably in-colony mating, observed queens, both alive(~2) and dead(~1) from a super colony, maybe more than 500 000-1 000 000+).

Location: Denmark, Nordjylland, Dall Hede, (near Poulstrup Sø).

Date: May 18th 2018.

Time: Around 14:00, both before and after, although not certain.

Temperature: About 17 to 23C, sunny.

Wind: Slower than 4 m/s (highest) N/NE.

Humidity: ~60%, probably higher near the lake.

Rain: Unknown, No.

What are you using instead of cotton balls?

 

That is just cotton plugs covered by denim. It keeps the queen from pulling on the cotton, and it just looks cooler. ;)
