Are the pheidole ants still available ?

since you are in California, buying pheidole from Texas is illegal without a permit.

I do not ship out of states as that would be highly illegal. Good luck finding ants closer to home!

Any chance you have Trachymyrmex/Mycetomoellerius? (at least, I think that's what your icon is?)

I've been looking for Trachys -- or other "lower agriculture" fungus gardeners -- for a while to no avail

I wish I could say yes. Unfortunately the picture is from when I lived in Florida and yes it is picture of T. septentrionalis. I have spotted T. turretensis in a couple of places here if you are interested.

Ah, yea I have Mycetomoellerius turrifex in my yard even (I think that's what you mean by T. turretensis? It used to be Trachymyrmex turrifex before a recent genus revision). Unfortunately they make quite deep nests, and I haven't been able to hit any chambers when I try and dig them up and I also have not found any alates/dealates

Good luck with your sales! I checked out your other threads and you have kept some spectacular species -- I'm especially jealous of your Cyphomyrmex minutus colony :)

My bad, thanks for the correction. I have only seen them taking off for a nuptial flight. None already mated or starting a founding chamber. And yeah, it's pretty futile trying to dig up a colony as I tried once long ago. All those ants are really cool so good luck on your quest.

And thanks, those Cyphomyrmex were definitely some of my favorites. The yeast growers were pretty easy to care for.
