I really feel for ya'll who have to deal with wild ants menacing your colonies. But I was also wondering if that is living moss and how do you keep it alive... that is how does it get enough sun?

Starting this July I'm posting videos of my ants every week on youTube.

I like to make relaxing videos that capture the joy of watching ants.

Yes, that is living moss, I sometimes just leave my light on for some time before turning it off.

Tetramorium has one pupa darkened and will be eclosing soon.

Around half of the C. irritans colony moved to the new test tube.

And today is C. parius colony's birthday!

Young ant keeper with a decent amount of knowledge on local ant species.

YouTube: https://m.youtube.co...uKsahGliSH7EqOQ (It's pretty dead. Might upload again soon, don't expect my voice to sound the same though.)

Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes): Camponotus irritans inferior, Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, Nylanderia sp., Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (Myrma) cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly Zatapinoma)

Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.

Camponotus should be flying now, they often fly during the night.

Hmmm oke thx. I haven't seen a single queen in 2 months. But I recently saw a hypoponera queen so I hope to catch more.

Tetramorium has two workers.

I just caught a Paratrechina longicornis (Black crazy ant) queen. It looks like she may have mites so I'll quarantine her upstairs for some time before moving her back to my ant room.

Oh shid BCA are hard to start up. I recommend getting a couple pupae and brood boost her. Or she could eat the pupa but it still helps.

I already found some and gave them to her and it seems that the workers that I didn't manage to shoo off are loyal to the queen I caught and are even feeding her. The only thing I'm concerned is that the queen may be infertile.

Strumigenys could have an egg but it's not confirmed and BCA had a new worker.

Good news! BCA queen laid some new eggs!

Anochetus started building a hill and it's touching the ceiling of the petri dish and some of the workers placed substrate on the walls of the petri dish and now they can climb up the wall which is scaring me.

I will have to move L. rothneyi out to a new nest soon.

There's good news and bad news.

The good news is: I caught four new queens (Iridomyrmex anceps, Crematogaster sp, Odontomachus simillimus and an unknown sp in the subfamily Ponerinae) and Strumigenys is confirmed to have at least two eggs! :)

The bad news is: The new Crematogaster queen is injured and she may not found a colony for us and the unknown sp could be infertile. :(

Edit: I managed to ID it as Euponera sharpi.
