What are the advantages of using sponge instead of cotton? Also, what are you using for the end of the tube and why do you push it in?

  • tube looks cleaner
  • water last longer
  • queen can hang on the sponge
  • can be reused

Day 92-November 16, 2020

Got real repletes. So far I've only had 1 colony death :D

Do the workers repletes gradually grow over weeks/days or is it a fast process like one day they don't have it the next they all of a sudden have it?

My colony recently had a bunch of workers eclose and some of them have pretty decent sized gasters but nothing like yours yet. I probably need to get a new feeder that they don't drain all the time with sand.

Ant Journal: http://www.formicult...-journal/<br> My colonies: C. Semitestaceus, P. Californicus, V. Pergandei, S. Xyloni.

They get the worker in batches.
