Six workers.....


Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii

Just found her dead with five orphaned workers and brood, including a major larva. Does any know if my P. bicarinata might adopt their brood?
I guess there’s a reason nobody keeps these on the forum...

Pheidole in general seem to have a fairly high mortality rate in captivity. It's probably nothing you did.

It's possible, but unlikely. I'd try to introduce the brood. Worst case the Ph. bicarinata simply end up eating it.
