My Pheidole navigans have 9 workers, with like 8 more on the way. :)

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

My almost four-year-old pointed out a reddish ant to me yesterday morning. It turned out to be a larger Pheidole queen, perhaps P. davisi. Attaboy!

I collected 16 Ph. bicarinata queens last night. I now have a total of 37 Pheidole bicarinata, Ph. tysoni and Ph. dentata queens. Most of my Ph. tysoni queens have pupae, and my quad queen colony of Ph. bicarinata has some pupae and larvae, and like 50 eggs. The Ph. dentata queen has 200 or so workers with a few dozen majors.
