This one was caught at my place. Saw a total of three of these but only took one. These are so small but I think they look like queens? All of the ones that I saw had their wrings still intact. Any meaning to this at all? Thanks!
 
1. Location of collection: Pasadena, California
2. Date of collection: 5/21/2017
3. Habitat of collection: Residential area. Queen found on wall.
4. Length (from head to gaster): 4-5mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: I can barely see anything especially with wings on but looks like thorax is lighter than rest of the body.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: N/A
7. Distinguishing behavior: N/A
8. Nest description: N/A

This is as Nylanderia as I've ever seen.

What makes you say Pheidole?

This is as Nylanderia as I've ever seen.

 

 

The plateaued thorax and her silhouette and mandibles. But yeah, I am no expert on the smaller species here in CA.
