Alright, so, yesterday, my brother and I went into the woodlands near our house and lifted up logs and such looking for hibernating colonies and interesting creatures. Well, we caught one of these queens and I've decided on keeping her. I know its a queen because only queens survive to winter. I got her home and made her a temporary terrarium out of a cricket keeper with cardboard at the top to allow her to build a nest. As soon as she starts building I'll cool her down and transport her and the nest into a 2ft by 2ft by 4ft terrarium until her colony gets bigger then I'll have the terrarium open so they can forage outside. I want to follow up with their progress and feed them personally until they don't see me as a threat. I'll show pictures when I have a working camera.

Keeps:

1:Pogonomymex occidentalis

4: Tetramorium immigrans

2 Reticulitermes flavipes
