I got a new large size colony of Camponotus Vicinus. About 50 workers strong.

I was able to add the brood from a previous queenless colony and they took to them immediately.

Moving the Larvae in the tube first, followed by the pupa.

Excited for this colony!

The Brood from another C. Vicinus (lighter color variation)

Added to colony to boost. they grabbed larvae right away

Not as rushed with pupa. Lots of late stage pupa, close to another 50, may even hold some alates. Handful of majors at least.

Moved all brood into the tube. Workers from brood boost have started to emerge. Lighter more golden color variation so that's cool!  B)

Few more golden workers, about 5 have emerged so far.

I decided to offer this colony the enclosed formicarium I just recently built. I will add another similar nest to the box which will serve as a satellite nest as the colony is pretty sizable as is.

I added the colony to the formicarium and they moved in over night. Snug! But they really seem to love it and the workers sealed off most of the entrance. I also noticed a fresh batch of 10 or so eggs which is great as I have not seen any new eggs since brood boosting. So I think they are happy. Will be adding another satellite nest to the box which will be cool.

The entrance nearly sealed shut.

They really have taking a liking to the nest and have only seen a worker or two out at a time which is surprising for a colony this size. But they are well fed.

Golden Color variation looks cool with the darker maroon caolor variation.
