What is a good and cheap heating pad for ants?

I use a reptile heating cable available at most pet stores. Its usually not too expensive.

Is it ok to heat ants from the sides or above?  I've read they get stressed out being warmed from below (the opposite of what they naturally expect)

Haven't had any issues heating from any side

sticking a heat mat/cable on the lid of a box works well

I've been heating mine from below due to ignorance, but will use the pad on the side. I had not heard this. I must have indestructible ants since I've made multiple mistakes and they multiply like bunnies.

I use this one I only heat them by running the cable along the side of the nest. Honestly, I think I should run it over or under instead, but only because it's obvious the would like more heat.

Would also increase condensation....
