This was the biggest chromaiodes flight I’ve ever seen. Dealates were all over my yard. I only kept two to raise up for sale to responsible keepers.

A bit late, but in addition to C. chromaiodes and C. nearcticus flying that night (5 April) I also had a couple of Crematogaster ashmeadi males show up at my light as well. It seems like we'll have a while till the next warm period so we might have C. subbarbatus and pennsylvanicus flying by then as well.

That’s cool. I’d really love to find another ashmeadi this year.

C. chromaiodes flying in Alexandria!

Do you have a temperature, humidity, and wind speed they flew at?

The temperature was in the 70s. It had rained the day before, and the air was very humid with almost no breeze.

Sounds like a perfect time. Now to hope that similar conditions happen on my camping trip...

Last night Camponotus pennsylvanicus flew along with Camponotus chromaiodes. I found queens late into the night.

Woah, I was busy, but I should’ve been out looking.

Pull back bark on fallen logs. It seems like every log has at least 3 queens right now after all the flights.

Nylanderia Flavipes flew this afternoon. Males were everywhere but I'm still hoping that there will be larger flights later. Would blacklighting tommorow night be a good idea? I'm not sure what is flying at night now besides Camponotus.

I think tonight could be fruitful for black lighting unless it gets too windy or rainy. The coolest things you could find this time of year besides Camponotus would be Crematogaster ashmeadi and Nylanderia vividula.

Welp, I can’t black light since our power went out in a thunder storm.
