I found these guys in my small backyard and they are feasting on some dry cat food anyone any idea what species this just curious

Disagreed, it is near impossible to tell most Crematogaster species from a few photos.

Crematogaster scutellaris or C. schmidti but scutellaris is far more common so probably scutellaris

C. scutellaris is a west Mediterranean sp. so it's not that. C. schmidti is possible but I don't think it's that as somewhat the coloration is off, I would say leave it to Crematogaster sp.
