Hello, I found this Acromyrmex queen last year in 12-26-17. At the same nuptial flight I caught some Acromyrmex coronatus in my house at the mountains (800+ meters from the sea level) . Would be great to have a more precise ID for the journal that I have about them, thanks =D

Location:  Petrópolis - Rio de Janeiro - Brazil

Habitat of collection: Humid cold mountains (cold for Brazil being around 20 ºC)

"Acromyrmex coronatus is a montane species found in cloud forest habitats", maybe that can help with the ID.

Looks like Acromyrmex versicolor... AntMaps tells me that is not native to the Rio de Janeiro region so I could be wrong.

SO JEALOUS!

I'm pretty sure that she isn't A. coronatus, because A. coronatus has a larger thorax and longer legs.

This is an old post, and also it is most definitely Acromyrmex. It looks very much like some member's Acromyrmex and just by looking up Ectatomma ruidum I can tell that it is not that at all. It also has fungus, which means it has to be a fungus grower.
