Preferably, none. If the meats have spices on them, that can be bad too.

There are black Solenopsis. Just not in California...

I wouldn't call those black. Dark, but not black.

 

Edit: Apparently there are some black Solenopsis.

The foul odor is the reason I am sticking with Blue 100.

 

Until I get a big colony capable of chewing down a whole piece of mealworm in few days, I am sticking with Blue 100.
