Do you plan on selling out of state? Because that's illegal, and against the rules of this forum. Shipping is often illegal also, but that really varies from state to state.  :)

That makes no sense? You can't ship anywhere in the U.S. other than in your own state.

It can destroy ecosystems.

It is against the law.

It is incredibly stupid and irresponsible to just give ants to people who will just release them in two years.

It's against the law.

Many taxonomers and myrmecologists discourage this.

The Lacey Act prevents this.

Your actions can potentially make it more difficult for the rest of us to ant.

Even just shipping sends a package out of state, as evidenced by a recent package sent to me by a member from only two states away. The package first went northward to Minnesota and then crossed several state boundaries to get to me.

Where did you get your queens? Asides from Camponotus pennsylvanicus, these are either European ants or all misidentified.

If you've enjoyed using my expertise and identifications, please do not create undue ecological risk by releasing your ants. The environment which we keep our pet insects is alien and oftentimes unsanitary, so ensure that wild populations stay safe by giving your ants the best care you can manage for the rest of their lives, as we must do with any other pet.

Exotic ants are for those who think that vibrant diversity is something you need to pay money to see. It is illegal to transport live ants across state lines.

Lasius flavus can be found within the U.S, while L. niger may be present. The L. niger is most likely to be Lasius neoniger, and the F. fusca is most likely to be Formica subseriscea.

My point being that selling an animal is serious business, and if you aren't going to make any effort to understand or follow the law and not identify the ants, then it's best avoided.

Good question.

@Solinopis

If you are going to offer to ship ants, you better mention what State you are in, or it can be assumed you are willing to do it illegally.

Should I just make a new post area? Where I use the proper English names. I guess I don't know my Latin names.

No, you should post an ID request that is properly formatted for all of them.

Do not continue to attempt to sell them without first doing so.
