Tetramorium Feeding Troubles

So I have a smaller sized tetramorium sp. E colony (100-150 workers)

They really love their sugar I give them a good sized drop of honey every day, but they don't seemed so hyped about their protein. I give them a small cricket every day, but come the next day they won't finish it. I know tetramorium are supposed to be really good when it comes to eating, but i don't know what to do. Should I buy a different type of feeder insect or should I keep sticking to crickets?

Try protein powder in honey.

Fruit flies generally work for me.

Tetramorium may go for dry plant-based protein powder, but whey is not digestible. Drosophila flies are a much better option.

If you've enjoyed using my expertise and identifications, please do not create undue ecological risk by releasing your ants. The environment which we keep our pet insects is alien and oftentimes unsanitary, so ensure that wild populations stay safe by giving your ants the best care you can manage for the rest of their lives, as we must do with any other pet.

 

Exotic ants are for those who think that vibrant diversity is something you need to pay money to see. It is illegal to transport live ants across state lines.
