Yeah, it did up until recently....
Looks like Myrmecocystus navajo.
VoidElecent, I think you may be right. Also, I saw the workers and they have darker gasters than the mexicanus species. The species are nocturnal and the entrance is a hole with an upward shoot made of small gravel.
What part of New Mexico did you find this? I have had no luck in the ABQ area at known nests.
