Welcome. I don't think Alex Wild is a member here, but the forum's growing more popular every day, so who knows, he may eventually see this.

Woops, yeah for some reason I thought he had a presence here, not sure where I made the connection. Ah well, still glad to be here, the atmosphere seems much friendlier than that "other" forum.. =)

I don't have any colonies yet, but I do have 3 Lasius sp. queens with brood in test tubes. Very excited to see them develop and expand though!

I'm almost certain that it is most likely going to be Lasius neoniger, just like every other ID in this forum. I have a journal of my colony!

Years ago (mid 1970s) I lived in Lawrence KS, while doing a masters degree there. Saw some good ants, too, and still haven't gotten over them.
