Veromessor, messor and pogonomyrmex specifically. What are the most desired seeds?

They love Kentucky Blue Grass seeds.

Same question! I read that founding queens will collect seeds but cannot open those greater than 1.5mm. What can I feed her besides honey and insects? Like any seeds accessible?

My failed Pogonomyrmex queens liked Poa pratensis and Salvia hispanica seeds. I was able to source the Poa seeds while I was working in my local mountains and the Salvia from my local grocery stores health food section.

Current Colony:

4x Camponotus (hyatti?)

I feed my harvesters niger seeds. Bought a big bag on amazon for $10 and it will be more than I'll need for years. My P. rugosus had no problems shelling them. For my V. pergandei and P. californicus founding stage I shelled a few myself with a razor while watching netflix. A little time consuming but definitely doable.

I just thought about this but tomato seeds are pretty small right? I wonder if they'll take them while wet or dried.
