Location:  Trabuco Creek, Cleveland National Forest, Orange County, CA).
Habitat:  Dry riverbed.
Coloration, hue and pattern:  Red with slightly darker gaster.
Length:  6mm.
Their gasters make a throbbing or flexing motion when disturbed.
It looks like these have just started coming out again in this area, rebuilding the entrance to their nest.
