My first guess would be some Crematogaster species.

Hello Everyone!

I caught this queen wandering around the pool. The temperature was around 24-28 degrees Celsius, and there had been rather heavy rain in the morning. The wind speed was 4-5 kph.

I'm very excited to see ants that I will never come across in my life. Here is hoping that she is fertile!

Certainly Crematogaster, but as most of us have very little experience with overseas ants, narrowing it down to a species is much harder. Especially for an already hard to ID genus currently in disarray.

Could be Crematogaster rogenhoferi.

We need measurements. No accurate ID can be made without them.

Welcome! Another cantonese speaker, I see.

Crematogaster is hard to ID down to the species level, even here in CA.

I'm no expert but it's not a well described species, so finding what kind of Crematogaster in HK would be even harder. Unless, of course, there is an entomologist in HK that specializes in Crematogasters :)

Best of luck with her!
