Update: 1/31/2015

Despite them being at five workers, I thought a foraging container would be good for them, so I placed them in one of my new "boxbox" containers. :)

All the workers died and I had to take her out of the boxbox foraging container. :( She is all alone now.

Sounds like all of mine, except the one I have now that seems to be pretty successful.

Its a shame. They are a beautiful species. its just a shame about their invasive nature.

An easy way to start a s. invicta colony is to boost the queen. Chill some wild caught workers and introduce them to your queen. Bingo. Near 100% success rate. Try boosting them. You will do well. Wish this worked with harvesters. My Pogonomyrmex success rate is negative 100%. Damn Pogonomyrmex.

This is a 2015 post, I'm just saying a bunch of people scolded me for keeping S. invicta so I got rid of them. These people live very near to me, so I was wondering why they kept this species. I was told it was illegal.
