When I consulted material experts on the formulation that has the best properties for antkeeping, I was advised to use labstone or hydrocal. Both are very hard and highly absorbent stones, much better than hydrostone.

Can you expand on the properties that were identified as being positive for ant keeping and why those products are superior to hydrostone?

Yeah, the issue with that seller is that it's unverified/off-brand Hydrostone. I've purchased from them before and I've had mixed results.
