Haha well I have been on this forum for almost 3 years now, and Yuku for a few before that. So I have been around.
wow! Me and my friend saw your website about a week back, and I was just about to make a thread any day now. Great formicaria! I was wondering if anyone knew about Ant-Topia. Good luck to you! Also, can Camponotus fit in the Modular V4?Hello all, my name is Kelly Sutton I am the owner of Ant-Topia and will use this section here in the future for feedback, suggestions and any wish list items you the end users would like to see come to a reality. I have been designing ant keeping products for many years for my own personal use and launched Ant-Topia early last year. But as I was waiting for access to the technology I did not grow or expand as rapidly as I have done these last few months. Ant-Topia is based out of Upper Michigan USA, and that is where all products are made and shipped from.
A couple recent items launched just this past few days include The View and the Modular V4 available at Ant-Topia.
Yes Camponotus fit in the v3 and the v4 very well with plenty of space to turn around do whatever it is they wish to do. I actually have my favorite Camponotus noveboracensis queen in one right now. (she never shed her wings but has workers and all

)
This was after they moved in, they now move the eggs between the screen and to the sides.
What is the screen for? hydration? how does it work? Nm, i read about it on your site
would this nest be good for a formica queen? Does the lid come off to clean inside? Is it acrylic (I assume)

The v4 the lid can pop off to remove the acrylic window, however it is held in with a tight friction fit and will require a small precision screw driver to pop out. The screen in the back sits over a small chamber that holds either cotton or a small part of sponge (your choice) that is able to be filled with water in the port in the back of the nest. To replace the medium in that chamber you can easily pop the bottom off to access it, with or without ants in the nest and the stainless steel screen is embedded into the nest and is unmovable (secure). There are more pictures of this nest on Ant-Topia. As far as Formica go, one should do well in this style nest.

Okay, thanks! Do you have sales on the v4 that you can advertise ahead of time? if not, I can just keep checking back on your site I'm not really sure what my queen needs since she is my first one
She is in a small test tube right now, but I wanted something 'prettier'! lol And your v4 looks nice, but I already spent money on test tubes.... so I am indecisive at the moment. hehe
I have not run any sales to date, I have tried my best to keep the prices low enough to be reasonable. Maybe in the future I will do something like that. I will however be adding color options to the v4 that are the same as the v3 so people can personalize the nests a little bit.

Oh, that sounds interesting, although I like the white color... I'm being so indecisive, sorry lol
Haha, that is fine. They will be available on my website all the time for when you make up your mind.
Aww that sucks, looks like I'm buying an acrylic nest off of eBay thenI talked to him a month ago. I bought some nests he had laying around although he was closed. The man is getting hitched. Might be a while yet.How long is your website going to be down for?

Hello all, and sorry for the slow reply. I took down the website as i was going to be far too busy with a few things going on. I may be working soon on a small selection of products as I have had quite a few inquiries over time now about how people can acquire the goods. Hope with'n a few days to have a plan setup and maybe we can get some stuff out the door again. Will be a smaller operation, but will be something.
I've been lucky enough to see some of the new stuff being worked on and I think you guys are going to be very pleased when you see them. #anttopiahype!
