Is it ok to ship ants? I have a lasius queen, and I was wondering if I would be able to ship it. What are the pros and cons to this? Thanks!

I've shipped a lot of ants, and in my experience, if u get a small cardboard box and wrap it tight with packing peanuts, u will usually ship without casualtiesIs it ok to ship ants? I have a lasius queen, and I was wondering if I would be able to ship it. What are the pros and cons to this? Thanks!

You should tie them in groups of three with elastic bands and bubble wrap

you tie the testtubes the queens are in in groups of three which are then bubble wrapped and put togather eith a rubber band

It is a guy in NorCal, though, so I won't need to worry so much about shipping across state lines. I already knew that, but thanks for reminding me.

Just put them into test tubes, FEED THEM SOME SUGAR BEFORE YOU SEND THEM AWAY and stuff the package with cotton and bubble wrap.
You may also want to add some warnings to the package so people don't throw it around or let it overnight in a car when it's freezing outside.
And yes, sending ants across US state lines is illegal even if the ant species is EVERYWHERE in the state you're sending them to (like sending RIFA to Texas).

Make sure you don't have too much water or not enough cotton. Nobody likes drowned queens.

That happened to me once.
So, I have my Solenopsis xyloni queen, right? I put it in a perfect test tube. Thing was, I didn't add enough cotton to block the queen from escaping. Mistake. I found the queen dead by my lamp a couple days later.
Make sure you don't have too much water or not enough cotton. Nobody likes drowned queens.
That happened to me once.
