3. Habitat of collection: Carpet? Very hot weather recently
4. Length (from head to gaster): 18mm or 0.70 inches
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Browner underbody and legs. Half brown and half black Gaster
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Very tall Petiole and small Postpetiole. Large thorax
7. Distinguishing behavior: Very calm behavior, not running around looking for escape nor sitting and cleaning itself.
8. Nest description: Unknown
I believe it's a queen because of its size and thorax.
The test tube is roughly 17mm in diameter, I think I should put it in my other 30mm diameter tube.
Also I'm new to this and have already designed and 3D printed formicarium but for some reason, all my queens in test tubes keep dying.
Typically on the 3rd - 5th day they'll curl up and be unresponsive. I leave them in a dark box in a room that's about 75-80 degrees.
