where should I be looking in socal? or does anyone have any extra queens???


There are tons of fire ants and carpenter ants in my area but no queens *except a batch of drowned winged ants in my pool =(

the recent rains in Joshua Tree brought out many flights.  There is another thread abut Ant flights by species. the ants mating chart. along with the SoCal anting missions thread have specific location for many of the ants found.  Just search the forums for those two things from DSPDrew.

As far as extra queens, The GAN project started by Ants Canada has GAN Famers (people who sell ants specifically viable colonies in specific regions)  DSPDREW is one for SoCal region contact him for colonies or go to ants Canada web site and see if any other Gan farmers are in your area.

I am in the inland empire; seems there is only one ant queen for sale a bit away from me on the GAN.
