Hi all, I grew up with ants when I lived in HI (and yes, I have held the flower pot snake multiple times after the rains fell)and renewed my interest in them last year after looking into keeping bees. I have several formicariums, mostly empty, from TarHeelAnts.com. I stumbled on this website from Ant Yuku, and this site seems nicer b/c there is no obsessively, compulsive grammar dude correcting my spelling and grammar errors. Also, I could never figure out how to post a message on that website. My primary interest is the red harvester and carpenter ant species. My inital impression with regards to ant keeping is that it is hit-or-miss in terms of predicting their behavior and survival. You could definately find some camponotus around now. Take a drive towards the mountains maybe.

Welcome. Here we only suggest that you spell things correctly, but your posts are your posts, and certainly nobody is going to spam or derail them with something completely off-topic like grammar and spelling.

Thanks for your welcomes. I will be visiting the mountains next weekend, and will let you know if I find any queens.
