Found this lady around 6pm on 8/15/16
1. Arvada, CO.
2. 8/15/16
3. concrete path infront of house
4. 12mm - 14mm (she is larger then my M. mimicus queen)
5. completely black but has a silver sheen across the top of her body
I'm guessing she is a Camponotus species of some kind.

I'm leaning Formica argentea or F. podzollica. We'd need close pictures of the head to be sure.

You could also look into lens coupling, lens reversing, or extension tubes, in case you didn't know.

It's still a tough call for me without seeing the hair coverage and sculpting of the face. There are a few locally endemic species which might fit as well.
