love the logo, love the name and am extremely pumped to have another professional ant keeping supply shop!!!!!!!!!! I will defiantly buy one in august (for my B-day). Btw, how much will they cost? I don't have a lot of money. And can I buy the formicarium on your new site?

None of the products are ready yet, in august, they should. I'm going to try to keep the smaller things under $20, and that will go down eventually when I get a 3d printer. For now, services are going to be my best bet for fastest production.

Well I think I got the watering system down.

Those holes are 1/12"

Stuff cotton it there, and for very small species, apply a small amount of grout.

Maybe this isn't the best watering system, but I don't think anything will escape. We'll have to have someone test it, and for now I'm going to use large AC pipe size for the outputs. (1/2" diameter)

The founding formicarium is 1% to complete, lol. I need to make it hollow, and I will put it up for sale on the shop soon. I'll make a new thread in the marketplace section, see you there!

To be honest I can not find a way to cheaply get my models printed online. I've tried doing infill slicers and stuff, but it doesn't work for companies like shapeways... They want to charge me 300$ to have it printed, because they register it as a solid object.

Until I can find a way or someone helps me find one, I don't think production of these products will begin.

I just don't understand how AC can have something bigger than mine 3d printed for way under $50, (obviously less). I went onto a ton of websites all ranging form 200$-800$ to have this thing printed, I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Have you checked out any local Makerspaces?  Some of them will print out small quantities (at least for prototyping) and prices aren't bad. I have a 3D printer, but have been considering sending off some formicarium ideas to be done locally to save some time.  Depending on materials, density and such, prices definitely vary; https://www.3dhubs.com

I also wondered how AC get's their for the price, though I had assumed probably some place in China depending on quantity.

Even if it comes from china, it couldn't, or at least shouldn't cost more than 20$ to have printed in the US. I'll find a local place in Philadelphia that will do it for me for cheaper.

Or kindly ask the library to do it overnight ;)
