I found this gal under a flower pot with a large colony already underway. There were soldiers the size of her! I got a few workers too and I think that they sting since one looked like it was trying to repeatedly sting my sock. Another one bit a paper towel and wouldn't let go. I also collected quite a few larvae

I'd go back to that flower pot every so often and collect straggler workers and brood. She'll do better the more of them you can collect.
