Normally, I don't buy into things like this that are posted once in a while on forums. However, this actually looks really promising, especially compared to other ant games I've seen up for funding. And unlike many, it has a demo to actually play the demo part of the game (haven't tried it yet). And unlike many, it has a proper kickstarter goal that looks entirely realistic (I've seen some on like indiegogo that wanted a stupid amount of money, and its only like one guy making it...yeah...). And at least it looks like the kickstarter goal is on target to be made.

 

And looks pretty much what I've wanted in an ant game. Though its not 100% realistic, as they include modern game mechanics like "abilities" that each species they included. But looks good enough, especially since the last ant game was empire of the ants (which was years ago)...and that was kinda bad hopefully this ends up being better. And all the ant games on apple/google store don't count as awesome ant simulators

Give me more fluid animation on the ants the ability to control the ant queen and choose where to dig and...... The ability to dig more levels and I shall play this game!

I backed the project last time and will do the same this time. I've been dying to play a new ant simulation for so long, I just hope this one fills my need.

They should make a game called Ant Simulator Simulator, in which you play a guy trying to make an ant simulator, but you have to fend off horny coworkers from burning through your money. They keep getting distracted by hookers and booze. 

 

 

Would buy Ant Simulator Simulator.

Well, it looks like they reached their kickstarter goal. That is different than most of past ant games people post.

My second time backing this one, too! I'm glad funding was reached. While this isn't the updated and modernized Sim Ant that I've always wanted, it's got some interesting things going for it, and I'm excited to play the full release!

Ok, i'm a bit confused. I want to back this, but i'm stuck at the Estimated Delivery for the Backers. The tiers say Estimated Delivery will be Feb 2017. But the page says "By the end of the kickstarter" which is in 20 days. I don't want to wait a year for a demo.

 

Also, has anyone tried to Demos that are already released? I will be giving it a good run tonight.

There's a new demo (0.05) but the new pheromone system isn't really working well for combat. I'd wait until they release a new version with an improved pheromone system as I found the current version rather unplayable (the old 0.03 beta was way better in terms of reaction speed and combat flow).

The new system works really well for logistics (gathering food, replacing eggs) but in combat the ants react to slowly and get murdered 1by1 by stronger enemies and groups of hostile ants long before they can reach a critical mass (if they ever can).

There's a 3rd demo now? I played the first two, wasn't aware of a third. I did read that they were re-doing there platform, but havent looked in to it much.

 

As for the demos, they're a lot of fun and i'm excited for the next ones. I really want the game to just come out.
