byFormica is pleased to announce a translated version of our most popular liquid feeder, GUZZLER (previously known as LIGHTYEAR), available for remixing and DIY 3D-printing at Onshape.com, a free, browser-based CAD application.

 

 

The translation of the part feature tree from our standard software was a simple exercise in the functions and limitations of Onshape.  In summary, while the Onshape beta lacks a whole bevy of useful features found in offline software such as SOLIDWORKS, and the minimalist interface leaves a bit to be desired in terms of clunky interaction, the cloud-based web application allows for the creation, sharing, and remixing of CAD files in a way so as to make product design more accessible than ever before.
