You could crush them with forceps, something heavy, a sledgehammer, etc.

When I caught my Pogonomyrmex queens I put them in a test tube with NO outworld attached and sprinkled dandelion seeds to cover the entire floor of the tube. I then put the them in one of those black deli trays (found at the dollar store) and covered the top with cardboard and set it on top of a heat cord.

I keep: C. modoc, C. sansabeanus  :D, C. maritimus, Formica argentea, M. mexicanus  :D, Odontomachus brunneus :D, Pogonomyrmex californicus, Pogonomyrmex rugosus,

That's pretty much what I did with mine, except I put mine in a box with a heat mat

A heat mat might end up heating your test tubes too much. I don’t really have a heat mat though, so I can’t really speak from my experience.

I like heat cords more then heat mats because I can heat up just a part of the nest instead of the whole thing as heat mats do.

I need to get one because It's kinda hard to heat all of my colonies/queens with a single mat. Do you have the link to the one you use?
