Camponotus modoc are not polygynous. Camponotus queens are some of the most aggressive, dangerous beasts in the Formicidae family, multiplied exponentially the more queens you put together.

"God made..... all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds (including ants). And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:25 NIV version

Keeping:

Tetramorium immigrans

Formica pallidefulva, argentea

Formica cf. aserva

Pheidole bicarinata

Lasius claviger

Camponotus vicinus, modoc, novaeboracensis, herculeanus

So they're Polygynous? What do you mean by dangerous beasts multiplied exponentially? They won't kill each other?

For questions like these about the ants someone is selling, it's better to pm the seller rather then ask on the shop page.

 Camponotus queens are STRICTLY MONOGYNOUS. Put them together and they will kill each other instantly. They will rip each other into tiny little pieces. They are aggressive beasts and become exponentially more aggressive when put with other queens. In my experience, they are the least polygynous ants I have ever seen. Camponotus queens HATE other Camponotus queens, more than anything.

If you like queens using formic acid chemical warfare against each other and amputating each other's legs out of pure hatred and rage, go ahead. Put them together and see what happens.

So, to answer your original question:

NO. NO. NO!!!

Some Camponotus are in fact polygynous. Many here in California practice pleometrosis, but eventually get whittled down to one queen after a year. But yes, Camponotus modoc are strictly monogynous and only have one queen per colony.
